DVDTOWN encourages healthy discussion and a free flow of ideas, both at the Message Board and in the Reader Comments. We want everyone of every persuasion to share information and opinions on a variety of subjects, primarily on movies but on equipment as well. Nevertheless, we also recognize that society needs laws, guidelines for civilized behavior. To that end, we will enforce the following rules:

NO PERSONAL ATTACKS. Discuss the content of a post. Do not attack the poster. This includes name-calling.

NO PERSISTENT HARD PROFANITY. We would like to think that anyone could enjoy reading DVDTOWN without being unnecessarily offended.

NO TROLLING. No one appreciates the poster whose sole mission is to incite anger and purposely disrupt the lives of others. A troll is no different from the person who keys a new car's paint job.

NO SHILLING. If you are posting primarily for personal gain, profit, or self interest, we do not welcome you.

NO SPAMMING. The site accepts valid paid advertising. If you have a product to sell, see our advertising department. DVDTOWN reserves the right to remove all posts that seem blatantly to promote a studio, electronics firm, format, or other product.

We will delete posts that violate the rules, and we will ban posters who continue to abuse the policy or whose posts have demonstrated to us that they are, in fact, trolling, shilling, or spamming.
