Quote:Try and grab a 60gb or 80gb 1st gen PS3. Both version SUPPORTS ps2 games, and includes FOUR USB PORTS (as opposed to just 2, in this 160gb version). Should you NEED bigger hd space in the future, upgrading the PS3 hd is FAR FAR EASIER than the XBOX 360.
I want a cheaper ps3 not a better or bigger one for the same price.
You can get a USED 80gb ps3 on ebay (with the option to buy warranty from SquareTrade) & upgrade to 160gb hdd- AND STILL SAVE AT LEAST $100, from this current 160gb version.
Is it a good deal? Depends if you care for ps2 playback, usb support (2 ports instead of 4), and the almost-one-year-old game that it comes with...

BTW, my XBOX360 has been working perfectly for two years now. On the other hand, I owned a 40 GB PS3 and the Blu-ray drive completely died in 4 months. I got Sony to replace it, and now instead of having 8 months left on the warranty, I now have 90 days. I have since sold the PS3 to a friend of mine.

well since the ps3 harddrive is so easy to replace i have a 250 gig harddrive in my ps3. cost me 50 bucks, google how to switch out ur hard drive, the ps3 automaticaly formats the new harddrive when its in the system so its really easy, plug and play. Also the the ps3 is a great media player for home movies and i hate to say it, but its really easy to use it for bootleg movies that u burn to a data dvd, just intall the data dvd to ur ps3 and download it into the hard drive.
