I want to know if both versions (standard and special editions) are in HD 1080p? I have the DVD Terminator 2 Extreme and wouldn't be interested in this HD-DVD version unless the extended edcition is HD as well. Does anyone know?

Uh, I know. Both discs, theatrical version and Director's Cut, are in 1080 high-def.

What would be the best online retailer for this import? I'm looking to purchase this and the Harry Potter DVD that is only available in Europe. Anyone?

Amazon.com has very secure servers, if you're worried about credit-card theft. They are also very fast in their delivery. Amazon England has "Potter" on HD-DVD, and Amazon France has "T2." What's more, if you are already an Amazon America customer, the European Amazons automatically have your name, credit card, and mailing address in Amazon's central database.

Then there is also Xploited Cinema, which imports a good number of HD-DVDs.

So is the default audio ouput DTS-HD Master audio? Can't seem to determine how to change any audio settings.

Chazz,

As far as I can determine (I don't read French), the Director's Cut comes only in English with only DTS-HD Master Audio. Are you unable to play the DTS-HD?

Amazon is probably sending them out according to how early you ordered it. I believe I put in my order back in January, so I guess it was sent out in the first wave of mailings.

I just expected to see the option to choose between DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-HD Hi-Resolution Audio.

Thanks for the tip by the way. I ordered via Amazon (got the gist of what the French website was telling me) and it came about a week later even though it indicated it could take longer.

John,

Yeah, I ordered mine in January, too, but I got it yesterday. I agree that it's rather silly to have the French subtitles mandatory on the theatrical cut, but I'm sure I'll do just fine with the director's cut.

Jazzed to take a look at it when I have a chance. Certainly one of those mainstays that I will continue to upgrade as technology advances.

Alright, that was great to watch. It was like seeing it in the theater again. Great detail, the lighting had more punch, and the gleam to the Terminators in that opening scene was spot-on.

Well worth an upgrade.

I just got mine today, but I can't play the first disc in my hddvd player, when I put it in it says, "unable to read disc." Does this mean something is wrong with the disc or my player? I'm using the XBOX360 HDDVD player.
The second disc works fine, except for the French subtitles that I can't turn off, but that's no biggie. I just wanna be able to watch the director's cut in HD!

OK, nevermind. I fixed it. I don't know exactly what the problem was... but oh well... it's fixed now.

OK, one last thing. Is there a way to remove the French subtitles?

On the regular theatrical cut, I'm afraid the subtitles are there to stay. On the extended cut, you can remove them.
