I would love to see a comparison review of this bluray player, or even that $2,000 Pioneer Elite bluray player, and compare them to a PS3 on similar 50" plasmas.
I would love to to know if there is any noticeable picture quality improvement on either of these 2 bluray players over a PS3 and also sound as well.

This is why it costs $1200.
ADVANCED FEATURES
Design Matches Yamaha Receivers
The front panel appearance matches Yamaha’s top-class receivers, so your system will have a neat, uniform look.
Not to mention, none of the other players released last year with the same features have "Yamaha" printed anywhere on them.

Why pay $1,200 when you can get a PS3 for $399. I know the PS3 is a video game machine but so far it works better than most stand alone blue-ray player and it cost way less.

What's so silly is that companies call their top of the line models Elites, ES, and high end when some don't even offer internet let alone the WiFi or storage capabilities of the PS3. SONY's top of the line ES blu-ray player isn't the $1200 BDP-S2000ES it's the PS3.

And people wonder why Toshiba doesn't make bluray players.
You can't compete against the PS3.
